Mentor: Dr. Masanori Aikawa

Daiki Hosokawa is a Research Fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Sciences (CICS) in the Cardiovascular Division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He completed his master’s degree of pharmaceutical sciences at Osaka University in 2019. His thesis focused on the therapeutic potential of hepatocyte-like cells differentiated from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). After joining Fuji Laboratories, the pharmacology department in Kowa Company Japan, he evaluated the effects of over-the-counter drugs and safety pharmacology in drugs under development. He joined CICS in 2022. Under the mentorship of Dr. Masanori Aikawa, he has been examining the interaction of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and protein in macrophage activation. His goal is to develop new drugs targeting lncRNA-protein interaction for cardiovascular diseases.
