Mentor: Dr. Guo-ping Shi

Zhaojie Meng is currently a Research Fellow working in Dr. Shi’s lab, at the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His current research interests revolve around the role of proteases and immune cells in cardiovascular diseases. He received his BSc degree in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University in 2009 and his PhD degree from Jilin University in the Department of Pharmacology in 2014. His dissertation focused on the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of type 2 diabetes. He then completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, Riverside (2019-2021) and at the University of Kentucky (2017-2019), focusing on molecular mechanisms of atherosclerosis and metabolic disorders.
