Mentor: Dr. Bradley Maron

Shreya Sangam obtained her PharmD in 2014 from Osmania University, India. In 2021, she received her PhD in Clinical and Translational Sciences from the University of Arizona. Her dissertation was entitled, “Estrogen-mediated SOX17 Regulation in the Development of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.” She focused on the regulation and role of SOX17, an endothelial-cell specific transcription factor, in endothelial cell biology and determining interactions between SOX17 and estrogen signaling and associated sexual dimorphism in pulmonary arterial hypertension. She joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in November of 2021. Under the mentorship of Dr. Bradley Maron, she will investigate the role of SMAD3 signaling due to redox regulation of NEDD9 in endothelial cells in pulmonary hypertension using in vitro and in vivo approaches.
