Mentor: Dr. Calum MacRae

I obtained my PhD in June 2021 from the University of Edinburgh (UK) at The Queen’s Medical Research Institute under the supervision of Dr Martin Denvir and Prof Adriano Rossi. During this time I investigated cardiac regeneration in zebrafish using intravital microscopy, specifically looking at modulating the inflammatory and regenerative response following injury. I joined the lab of Dr. Calum MacRae as a post doc in September 2021 to explore mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis development. Currently my research involves modeling early atherosclerosis development in zebrafish and understanding innate immune dysregulation, in addition to performing whole blood-based sequencing experiments in conjunction with the One Brave Idea award.
