Mentor: Dr. Mark W. Feinberg
Amit Chandra received his PhD from the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in 2021. His PhD work demonstrated a key role of microRNA-128 in reversing hypercholesterolemia in the mouse model. Furthermore, he worked in enhancing the current understanding of COVID-19 comorbidities, unraveling the prominent gene expression patterns in the cases of COVID-19 associated comorbidities. Currently, Amit Chandra is working as a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Mark Feinberg (September 2021-present) in the cardiovascular division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His work is primarily focused on identifying endothelial cell specific long non-coding RNAs that could have potential therapeutic implications in atherosclerosis and other cardiovascular disorders.
