Nuclear Lamins and Laminopathies: The Heart of the Matter

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the structure of the nuclear lamina and nuclear envelope;
- Recognize that mutations in the lamin A/C gene and genes encoding other nuclear envelope proteins cause cardiomyopathy;
- Preclinical research on pathogenic mechanisms and the development of targeted therapies to treat cardiomyopathy caused by lamin A/C gene mutations.
